Honda launch new honda civic 2018 coming soon

After the launch of Honda City, the most famous Honda car in India has to be the Civic. Honda pulled the plug on its once most famous model Honda Civic in India back in 2013 owing to lazy demand. Having launched the tenth generation Honda Civic in international markets lately, the company is confident of the product and is mulling to bring it back to India. Packed in an entirely new skin, the new premium look saloon will be powered by a petrol engine and there could be also give an option for a diesel unit as well in Honda civic.

The new Honda Civic has been built on an entirely new platform and the looks have been design to fit like in the new Honda design language. It looks like a baby Accord unlike the distinct styling of the previous generation cars. The signature thick chrome slat in the front with the modern LED headlamps and LED DRLs look fantastic.Unlike the typical sedan profile of the earlier Honda Civic, the new one has a notchback like a lines with a high boot lid and a high sloping roof. The design of tail light of new gen Honda civic look like C shaped tail lamps and the twin exhausts look like a sport car. The 17 inch alloys look good as well.

Inside of new Honda civic you have the typical Honda interior, similar to the ones we have seen in the Honda BR-V and the Honda City. The all black interior looks premium with the aluminium highlights but the India car might get a black and beige combination . It gets a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control. The instrument console has a large tachometer at the centre with e digital speedometer which again nice touch and a multifunction display. The other dials are the fuel and temperature gauges. It gets armrests for both the rows with height adjustable driving seats and electrically operated side mirrors.

The sedan will come in petrol and diesel options. The petrol variant gets a 1.8 Litre i-Vtec engine that produces 139 BHP @ 6500 RPM of power and 174 Nm @ 4300 RPM of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed MT with an optional 6-speed CVT gearbox. The diesel variant gets a 1.6 Litre i-DTEC engine that produces 160 BHP @ 4000 RPM of power and 300 Nm @ 2000 RPM of torque. The diesel variant will be the first one to feature a 6-speed MT along with an optional 9-speed CVT gearbox.

The all-new 2018 Honda Civic will feature a petrol and a diesel engine. The 1.8-lite petrol unit will deliver around 12-14 kmpl while the new 1.6-litre diesel unit will deliver an unusual high mileage of around 22 kmpl. The diesel engine uses technologies like turbocharging and high strength chromium-molybdenum steel alloy pistons to achieve these staggering results. The tenth-generation Honda Civic gets a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and naturally aspirated 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre engines. but the India Honda Civic has had the 1.8-litre mill, we might see the option of the 170bhp turbo-petrol. The Honda Civic has the engine mated to a six-speed manual and the CVT automatic gearboxes option . It is said that the India car might also see a diesel engine being offered with the Honda Civic, but the 100bhp setup would certainly be too fell underpowered for a car of this size.

The Honda Civic, in case it comes to India, will compete against the Hyundai Elantra, the Skoda Octavia, The Toyota Corolla Altis and the Chevrolet Cruze.
